Transparency, Equity, Innovation, & Community

The Charmed Crow Collective is a retail and gathering space that represents what we want to see more of in the Portland community. Our focus is on providing high-quality handmade items directly from artists, vintage apparel and home decor, unique and eclectic gifts, and a gathering space to host workshops and community events. As a maker-owned retail collective, we are boots on the ground changing the culture and structure of traditional consignment to a more reciprocal structure that directly benefits the artists as well as the retail space.

Profit Sharing Model

Unlike traditional artist collectives or stores that focus solely on a consignment or space rental system, our primary funding sources will be split between the co-owner’s goods, in-house vintage & thrift, and wholesale sourced primarily from LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and local vendors. After our bills are paid, co-owners will be able to profit share any remaining funds.

This model will allow us to offer consignment opportunities to other local artists and makers at a fair, low rate.

Keeping our doors open should not rest on exploiting other small artists and businesses.

Accessibility Forward

Our shop will feature a collection of our goods through e-commerce, allowing folks to have items shipped to their home or for local pickup. While we can’t catalogue and list everything (some treasures must still be hunted!) this allows for anyone to engage with our product offerings from home.

Additionally, we will offer mask-required shopping days so that our immunocompromised and COVID-conscious community can feel good about supporting us in-person.

Looking to the Future

After building our retail space out, the Collective will get to work on researching, planning, and testing a fair consignment system to open to the public.

We also plan to host workshops led by the co-owners and other local artists around our areas of expertise, including: crafting, running a successful business, locating resources, sustainability, and more.

Charmed Crow hopes to host pop-ups, markets, educational blogs, and all sorts of ways to get involved in the future.

As a worker-owned retail collective, we aim to be a resource for businesses looking to adopt a more cooperative approach or to join the worker-owned movement.
